| 4. Various up coming projects: a. Renovation of the Church: The Church building was constructed thirty years back.Roof of the church is of Asbestoes sheets. These sheets have slipped down because of the insufficient number of anglers in the roof. To set them right we have to fix additional anglers. In the front side of the church there is a Portico.Roof of the portico is of RCC. But it is not in good shape. Now and then pieces are falling down from the lower side of the roof because of which iron bars are exposed. Hence this portico will have to be reconstructed. b.
Educational fund: c. Housing project: d. At the entrance of the church road on the one side we would like to construct a shetter for the travellers, on the other side erect a Calvary scene. |
| 5. Mass timings: Week days : 7.00 a.m. Sundays : 8.00 a.m., 10.30 a.m. 11.15 to 12.00 noon Catechism 12.00 to 12.30 p.m. Sodality meetings. Parish feast : Is celebrated in the first week of month of May. Nine days of Noveena is held in preparation for the feast. On the eve of the feast prayer service is held near the grotto at Maria Kripa Complex and from these people move in procession towards the church. |
| 6. Activities of Various Parish Associations: Catholic Sabha: There are more them 100 members in the association and of them 55 are life members. Once in a month they hold their meetings. They take keen interest in bringing the people together. Last year and this year on 15th August Shramadhan was organized to set right the Nakre-Karkal Road. More than hundred people took part in the Shramadhana. In view of extending moral support to the soldiers fighting in Kargil, a rally was organized, in which five hundred people (irrespective of religion) took part.At the Varado level Our Catholic Sabha bagged two prizes, one for the highest number of membership, and the other one for the first entry in the Varado Sammelan. Third Order: There are ten members in the association. They meet once in a month. They visit the sick people. Altar boys Sodality : There are 35 members on roll. Every Sunday

| 7. News of the Parish in brief: a. In the month of March we hold the senior citizens day. This year 50 persons took part in the celebration. Sacrament of Reconciliation was arranged for them. Then there was the Holy Eucharist. After that few games were conducted for them. Then a lunch was served for them. b. In the month of June, half day seminar was organized on cultivation. Sixty people took part in the Seminar. Participants said that the seminar was very much useful for them. c. Last November full day Seminar was organized on Small Christian Communities. One hundred and ten peple took part in the in the Seminar. The Seminar was helpful in building up small christian Communities in the wards. d. During last 4 days retreat was organized for the parishioners. One hundred and thirty people attended the retreat. Retreat was helpful in reviving the spirit of prayer in the family. |
| 8. Youth talents of the Parish There are 35 youth in the Nakre Catholic youth Association. Most of them are studying. Few are working. They take active part in the parish activities. On Sundays they conduct liturgy for the 8.00 O'clock mass. Once in a fortnight they hold their meetings. During the Christmas season they visit every family of the parish and sing carols. They organize crib and star star competitions for the parishioners. They organise cultural programmes on the Christmas and New Year night. Last year they organized "Atma Shakti Anthony" a Kannada yakshagana for the public at Mahalingeshwara school ground. One and a half thousand people watched the Yakshagana. At the Varado level they bagged the first prize in Bible Quiz Competition. |
